Our engineering departments will be hosting celebrations for their graduates. Check here for details and updates.

Departments will also send email invitations to their graduates.

Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering

Graduates from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering are invited to a celebration lunch on Saturday, May 13, 2023, 2:00-3:30pm at Union South, Varsity Hall. Invitations will be sent directly to graduates. Please contact Susann Ely with any questions.

Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Graduating students and their guests are invited to join faculty and staff from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department for a graduation reception in the lobby of Engineering Hall following the Camp Randall ceremony on Saturday, May 13. Appetizers and refreshments will be served from 1:30 – 3:30 pm. This event is open to graduating students and their families/guests at no cost.

To assist with planning, students must RSVP with their guest count by Wednesday, May 3. Students will receive an email with details on how to register. Doors for the College of Engineering ceremony at the Kohl Center open at 4 pm, allowing ample travel time for students and their guests who are attending all events (Camp Randall ceremony, this reception, and the CoE ceremony).

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is excited to celebrate our 2023 graduates by hosting a brunch for graduates, family, and friends prior to the commencement ceremony at Camp Randall. Graduating students, please check your email for information about how to RSVP for this fantastic event. We welcome all of the celebrants to enjoy a full brunch buffet, photo booth, and hearty congratulations from ECE faculty and staff.  More information.

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering invites graduates and their commencement guest(s) to a joint graduation celebration with the Department of Mechanical  Engineering on Saturday, May 13 from 9:00-11:00am prior to UW Commencement Ceremony at Camp Randall. The celebration will be held in the Mechanical Engineering Building main atrium, 1513 University Ave, with chair remarks and student recognition at 10:00am. We hope all our graduates and their support groups are able to join us for a brunch buffet, photo booth, and camaraderie with fellow graduates and ME faculty. 

More information about the graduation celebration will be sent in the weeks leading up to graduation. Graduating students should keep an eye out for an RSVP form and more event details.
